Our journey with Pillow Pets; one year later

What a year it's been since my last blog post! We've grown quite a bit, with new stores now in Morro Bay and Cambria, CA!

Dave and I take the "mom and pop" store approach...opting for real stores so we can enjoy the people in our community and have fun with our area visitors!! We love donating to silent auctions for good causes in the area, and offered Pets this year as prizes in the costume contest in San Luis Obispo's famous Farmer's Market!

Our online business has really grown, with so many folks knowing more about Pillow Pets these days. There's just nothing like seeing a child who has waiting patiently to get his very own Pillow Pet and when that day comes...it's just a magical experience of joy...for all concerned!

Thank you to everyone for your support and for spreading "Pillow Pet" LOVE!

OMG! My sister and I JUST LOVE you guys!!!! Pillow Pets are our favorite and we have made the long drive of 4 hours twice already from Northern Cali just to visit both your stores in San Luis Obisbo & Morrow Bay!!! We always have to see all the faces of the animals before we buy them and always buy so many of them from you guys! It all depends on the faces!!!!!! Keep up the wonderful work! You make the world a better n smiling place!!!!!!

Wow, those pillow pets sure look nice. Too bad I can't get one! Too bad they're always out of stock! Too bad your customer service people don't have a clue! You're going to start losing customers if you don't start providing better customer service. I understand that you're a startup, but hire some people!

I am glad to have the opportunity post negative comments about these "Pillow Pets." I hope it isn't deleted.

After the onslaught of TV commercials for these items, my 6 year old daughter decided she had to have one. Having done well in school recently, we decided to reward her with one. I went to their website, but was reluctant to place the order online. When I attempted to close out of the site, I was greeted with a pop-up for a Walmart gift card. Attempting to close that window took me to another pop-up, which asked if I was sure I didn't want to take advantage of the gift card. When I tried to close that window, I was automatically taken to the "majorsavings.com" website, where I could conveniently enter all of my personal information. Well, as it turns out, I didn't need to enter anything. That day, I began receiving tons of spam emails that were all related to my having applied for a Walmart gift card, which I never did apply for. In addition, the next day, I began receiving dozens of telemarketing phone calls about this product and that product. When I asked one of them how they got my information, they asked if I had recently applied for a Walmart gift card. Interesting.

Now, for the ordering-a-Pillow-Pet experience. When I called to place an order, I was told that the specific item I wanted was very popular, but it would probably be shipped out within 24 hours because a truck with 77 of the items just arrived that morning. Two days later, I called to verify the order and was told that the item was on back-order for 4-6 weeks. I had anticipated when I first placed the order that this was a scam. They take the back-orders, then fill the orders based on that. When I typed "pillow pet scam" into Google, one of the links that came up took me to the actual Pillow Pet website feedback page. It was nothing but complaints from people who had placed orders and had been waiting and waiting for as much as a month and a half for their items. They complained about customer service, which I will also complain about. Every time you talk to someone there, you get different information in the form of smoke screen and lies. People, this is a scam and you should not place an order here. I haven't been able to find any other place that makes a comparable product, but if one existed, and they were able to operate legitimately, they could easily make a lot of money. I canceled our order and am still waiting for the confirmation email I requested about the cancellation. I will be lodging a complaint with the BBB.

Hello,
I am VERY happy with the products I purchased from Anita's Pillow Pets and with the EXCELLENT customer I received.
I am writing to counteract the bad reviews that appear in this blog and elsewhere on the internet.
I found the negative reviews after I had ordered from Anita's and left a message regarding my reservations. The very next day, Ray, from Anita's customer service called me to discuss my concerns about missing inventory and very late delivery times.
He said that Anita's is one of several outlets for Pillow Pets and that customer service is very important to Anita's. He said I would receive my order on a Friday (in arrived a day early) and if it did not to call.
The products I ordered are delightful and so was the customer service. PLEASE do not hesitate to buy from Anita's.
I will be ordering more merchandise from Aniata's in the future.
Thank you,
